John Kiramis was born in San Francisco and raised in a part of the city named Glen Park.
Born in a place where there is always adventure and exposure to diversified lifestyles, cultures, and sexual orientations all of which imbued him with an intellect to write.
He began working at an early age performing all sorts of jobs from delivering three different local newspapers and collecting empty soda bottles to caddying at The Olympic Club and waiting on restaurant tables.
One of his favorites was delivering refurbished secondhand TV sets for Singer Electric located on the southwest corner of Haight and Asbury.
Later upon graduating from the University of San Francisco with a degree in rhetoric he joined the police force and served as a police lieutenant and detective sergeant.
Upon retirement after 32 years on the force he sought political office and won election as a councilman who went on to become Mayor of Foster City, a town viewed as part of the Silicon Valley some 22 miles south of San Francisco.
Today, John lives in the Mohave Desert in northern Los Angeles County along with his wife Kate and one-eyed black cat Anthony who he rescued from drowning in the pool.
He enjoys his meddling attempts at cookery, daily exercise to ward off the encroachment of age, and keeping abreast with what goes on in the world as fodder for his writing.
